Sunday in New York

Well.... we're back in that crazy time in February. Busy Season. Sweet Tyler has been living in a hotel Monday-Friday and coming home only to work from the office on Saturday and Sunday. This past week, however, his boss gave him Sunday off. We haven't spent much time together since the new year, so we decided to head on up to New York City for the day. We booked our bus tickets and headed up via the Megabus. The weather was a perfect 47 degrees so we decided to begin our day with a walk throughout Central Park.
Checking out the beauty in Central Park

View of the city from the Ice Skating Rink

We walked through the park and saw something beautiful. In the small alleyway outside the park, there was a beautiful church choir singing hymns and we could hear the echo throughout all of Central Park! Talk about life in the middle of winter huh?

One of the things I had been dying to do was eat at Serendipity. Tyler and I are both HUGE ice cream fans so this cute little cafe has been a must! We went and Tyler enjoyed a chicken sandwich and a peanut-butter frozen hot chocolate and I had a footlong hot dog and a vanilla sundae. We talked and laughed and planned our future really big vacation together. It is so nice to spend one on one time with just Tyler.

 Loving our frozen treats!

I have a tendency to get a little bit excited!

Chocolate and Peanut Butter is his love language

After Serendipity we went to Dylan's Candy Bar to enjoy something sweet! Of course I got enough candy to last me the next week! After Dylan's Candy Bar we walked to Times Square to experience the most touristy part of the city.

I promise that my head is not actually this big!

We walked through Times Square and experienced the magic. One of my favorite things about Times Square is the beautiful Disney Store. The Disney sayings from some of the most classic Disney Movies.

These lanterns represent such a "Tangled" daydream.

After the Disney Store, we decided to find the mythical CBS store. Tyler and I are both huge Survivor fans. We figured a visit to the CBS store would be fun, we could see some of the show's memorabilia. Well, let me tell you, we walked block after block until we located CBS Studios. Guess what? There was no store. It's ok, we got plenty of exercise.

The last thing we decided to do was pay a visit to the 9/11 memorial. Neither one of us had visited it before and we had heard of it's beauty. Oh my Lord it was gorgeous. I feel so blessed to have been apart of something so much bigger than all of us. We spent a moment and prayed for all of the families affected by the terrible tragedy.

At some point when we were there, the lights came on.
It made the memorial even more amazing.

Such a beautiful memorial.

Freedom tower. So beautiful.

Then we RAN to board the bus; we made it just in time and got prime seats. We snuggled up together and headed the two and a half hours home. The best part of this whole trip? Tyler looking at me on our way home and thanking me for taking his mind off of work for just one day during busy season. It made me happy to see his mind relaxed and happy.
